march

it’s hard to believe ryan is 11 months old this month! there were a few firsts this month for the little man including... meeting my dad’s brother and his wife (uncle sam and aunt betty) for the first time; feeding himself! eating cantaloupe; falling off our bed...ouch! luckily no damage was done. here are some pics and videos from the month.

videos

here are a couple of videos for your viewing pleasure!

i call this one “loud boy...”

and this is from our drive back to AZ. ryan was enjoying the way
the bumpy road was making his voice sound.

notice ryan’s chewing technique even though he had
only one tooth at the time.

ryan in santa hat

here are some photos from the “shoot” for our xmas card...

rj 9 months and counting...

ryan now has two teeth...the first one arrived just in time for xmas the second one came not long after. he didn’t seem to have too much trouble with pain...although at times he did seem a little high maintenance. and of course, he was a drooling machine...still is! here are a few random photos from the last couple of weeks.

little man taking a nap on our bed...love the “woe is me” look...

i went in to check on ryan while he was sleeping and this is what i found...
love the crossed leg...and surprisingly, the room was pitch black,
but the flash of my camera didn’t even phase him!

quick nap on his changing table...don’t worry he was strapped in!
and notice the one sock missing...typical!

trying to crawl around...he mostly scoots backwards,
but hey, it’s movement!

park play day...he likes the swing a lot!

i just love the sleeping poses...these were taken the same night.

he’s supposed to be IN the sleep positioner...

rj’s baptism

while we were in CA for christmas, we decided, kind of spur-of-the-moment to have ryan baptized in the armenian church i grew up in.

luckily, dennis’ mom and step dad were able to change their flights back to AZ and so all the grandparents and most of the aunts and uncles were able to witness the event.

unfortunately, the church was FREEZING so the poor baby was not very happy to be undressed AND dipped in water...it was over before he knew what had happened, and it was a really nice day.

just before leaving the house to go to the church...fyi, ryan is wearing the outfit my nephew wore to the church on his baptism day...so sweet!

inside the church, awaiting instructions...

dennis, ryan and the godfather, mark

the priest (who is a bit of a jokester) is telling laura (ryan’s godmother) and me that we have 2 minutes and 11 seconds to get ryan undressed and brought back out in a towel...no pressure!

getting the water ready for baby

48 seconds and counting...ha!

very cold and not very happy...

the priest is pouring the holy oil from armenia into the baptismal tub.

and the dip...

get me outta here...NOW!!

and, it’s over...

ryan’s godmother is putting his new, shiny gold armenian cross on him.

we thought ryan looked like a little amish baby with that bonnet.

the newly christened baby and all the grandparents...lucky boy!

ryan with all his aunts and uncles...except for uncle howie and auntie michelle.

lunch afterwards at an armenian restaurant in the valley...yum!

with auntie anita...look at that pout! well, it was a LONG day for him...
