rj’s baptism
while we were in CA for christmas, we decided, kind of spur-of-the-moment to have ryan baptized in the armenian church i grew up in.
luckily, dennis’ mom and step dad were able to change their flights back to AZ and so all the grandparents and most of the aunts and uncles were able to witness the event.
unfortunately, the church was FREEZING so the poor baby was not very happy to be undressed AND dipped in water...it was over before he knew what had happened, and it was a really nice day.
just before leaving the house to go to the church...fyi, ryan is wearing the outfit my nephew wore to the church on his baptism day...so sweet!
inside the church, awaiting instructions...
dennis, ryan and the godfather, mark
the priest (who is a bit of a jokester) is telling laura (ryan’s godmother) and me that we have 2 minutes and 11 seconds to get ryan undressed and brought back out in a towel...no pressure!
getting the water ready for baby
48 seconds and counting...ha!
very cold and not very happy...
the priest is pouring the holy oil from armenia into the baptismal tub.
and the dip...
get me outta here...NOW!!
and, it’s over...

ryan’s godmother is putting his new, shiny gold armenian cross on him.
we thought ryan looked like a little amish baby with that bonnet.
the newly christened baby and all the grandparents...lucky boy!
ryan with all his aunts and uncles...except for uncle howie and auntie michelle.
lunch afterwards at an armenian restaurant in the valley...yum!
with auntie anita...look at that pout! well, it was a LONG day for him...
